A form 1040-X is an amended return. Line 1 column A would be your adjusted gross income (AGI). You may have indicated that you filed an amended return last year. If not, then you just need to enter your AGI from 2018, which is on line 7 of your form 1040 for 2018.
Thanks for replying! I'm pretty sure I did have to do an amendment last year because I jumped the gun a little bit and missed a w-2 I think, but the -X document I have just doesn't have that part with any text.
The 1040X Amendment form will be available on February 12th. That may be why you are not seeing part of the text.

I don't need to amend for this year, I amended last year. This year, it wants information from my 2018 1040X to let me e-file, but it wants info from a spot that was empty on that form last year. There's nothing there until line 5...
The numbers start just below the cutoff point.
Try entering a zero for the AGI question since that is what is showing on your form. If that doesn't work, enter your original AGI. Here is a link with information on getting your last year's AGI.
Thanks for the response! If I'm going to enter the original AGI, do I still need to say I'm using the 1040X, or should I just use the 1040?

The AGI from the original 2018 Form 1040 that was filed before amending the tax return using the Form 1040X.
