Any tax refund from an amended tax return is only sent to you by the IRS as a check in the mail to the address on the amended tax return which you mailed to the IRS.

Please answer the person's question. Ameding the prior year tax return there is a bug where it is a paper filing but you will need to change the refund method to check or you will be in an endless loop.

It was answered.  A 1040X does not have a refund option.  The IRS always mails a check for amended returns.
