TurboTax receives no information from the IRS or a state after a tax return is filled and accepted.

Without knowing the state or what the notice indicates on why you owe additional taxes no one will be able to give you advice.

@doug90  are you sure it's the State and not the IRS? $1500 is the same number many are getting stuck with because of errors on Line 28 when there is a child involved....

Can you be more specific on why the State is requesting $1500 (or confirm it's the IRS)?  What line items did they challenge?  can you please explain the circumstance?  Odd that the problem wouldn't also impact the federal return, unless you inadvertantly entered too much state tax withholdings from a key punch error on a W-2 or other similar staste withholdings

what was the EXACT amount of what they are asking for?

I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE IRS/STATE

TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state.

(what the letters from the IRS mean)

I GOT A LETTER FROM THE IRS

AUDIT SUPPORT

TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support.   At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support".  Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter.  Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

It says " adjustment notice", Missouri has reviewed my income tax return and made a adjustment of $1305.00 plus penalties.

@doug90 The IRS deals with federal tax returns.   The state of MO deals with your state return.  So----who sent you the letter?   The IRS---or the state of Missouri?

You should call the support number that was provided to you so someone can help you sort it out and understand.
