If you did not get the 3rd EIP payment you can use the recovery rebate credit in the Federal Review section to get it. It will show up on line 30 of your Form 1040 and will be added to your refund.
I didn't know they sent out letters saying that. Does it have a letter # on it like 6475? Does it look like one of these?
The program will ask about the stimulus payment in the Federal Review section. If you did not receive the stimulus payment answer No where asked.
You will be eligible for the Recovery Rebate Credit of $1,400 if you are not being claimed as a dependent and your Adjusted Gross Income on the 2021 tax return is below the following amount -
• Single or Married filing separately—$75,000
• Married filing jointly or qualifying widow(er)—$150,000
• Head of household—$112,500
The Recovery Rebate Credit is entered on your federal tax return Form 1040 on Line 30. It is added to your other tax payments, it is not a separate refund. Your Total taxes from Line 24 are subtracted from your Total tax payments on Line 33. If you have an overpayment then that is entered on Line 34 as your federal tax refund.
You can view your Form 1040 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
Follow these steps to claim the 3rd stimulus payment:
