I entered the wrong value for a foreign account on Form 8938, but this had no impact on my bottom line (no income from account). Do I need to amend?
I accidentally entered the year end amount rather than the maximum value amount (in years past these were one and the same, this year it was not). I figured this out before filing the FBAR form, but I'm concerned that the amounts are different between the FBAR and Form 8938 (FBAR has the higher amount). As I said, we had no income from the account (funds can't be accessed until a certain age as its a retirement account). Do I need to amend my tax return?
