I entered my Bank routing# and my direct deposit ID# instead of my account# because it's a prepaid card, Will my refund still be deposited with just that information?

I have a Prepaid Rush card and on the forms my card came with it shows only the routing# and direct deposit #.

If your prepaid card is like mine, then your direct deposit number is actually you account number. I had the same problem last year and I called the customer service number in the card, and that's what they told me. Either way, my refund came as scheduled. Good luck 🙂

Thank you so much. 🙂

@Nolalo - only the IRS would know that.  that information is not shared with TT.  have you cheked the WMR tool?  Did you paper file or efile and when did you file?

@Nolalo TurboTax gets no information after you file your tax return.  You have another question somewhere about your banking information.   The IRS does not allow you to enter or change banking information after you file your tax return.  If you did not enter correct banking information for a direct deposit, your refund will be mailed as a check to the address on your tax return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

OR——if you filed by mail, expect a long wait.   It is taking the very backlogged IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns.   Until a human opens your envelope and enters the data into the system, nothing will even show up on the refund site, so you will have to be very patient.
