It would count as two if your return is still pending. If your e-filed return is pending, you will not be able to make any changes until it is accepted or rejected by the IRS. After that, you can amend your return. Please see How to amend (change or correct) a return you've already filed for more information.
It was accepted (not pending). I sent 1 return (married jointly) and I need to amend and file 2 returns (1099-X) married separately. So in this case would it only count as 1 e-file or 2 or 3?
