I don’t need to put my state down for state taxes but it’s telling me I need to, it needs more info

You are correct.  TN does not have a state income tax.  If there is a TN line on your form W2 or 1099R just delete the information from your form entries in TurboTax in the "Wages and Income" section.

TN does not have an income tax.  Leave W2 boxes 15,16, & 17 BLANK, empty, no spaces.
