I didn’t work last 2022 year and haven’t started this year. I made a mistake and I can’t finish it because I don’t have the necessary paper work. How do I fix this?

I tried the cancel and start over process, but it hasn’t taken the tax process off. It thinks I’m still doing it and I haven’t submitted anything because I don’t have anything.

If you did not have taxable income of any kind in 2022 then there is no need to file a 2022 tax return.

Just sign out of the online account.

What are you really trying to do?   If you had no income in 2022 then why are you preparing a tax return?  What are you trying to enter?    How were you supported?   Did someone else support you and claim you as a dependent?    

If you have no income to enter, then either clear it and abandon it, or just plain abandon the account.  Nothing will happen.

If you have not registered, paid or e-filed you can clear the return and just leave it alone.
