Sorry ... but nothing you do after your return has been filed and accepted for processing will or can change the return you filed. If the bank rejects the direct deposit then they send the refund back to the IRS and the IRS converts it to a paper check mailed to the address on the return. This process can take more than a couple of weeks.
The IRS does not allow you to change your banking information after you file your tax return; you cannot "correct" the banking information if your refund has been issued. When the refund goes to a wrong or closed account, it should be sent back to the IRS and then the IRS will issue and mail a check to the address on your tax return. However, if you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, it gets more complicated. Then the refund goes back to the third party bank that handles refund processing. That bank has to issue and mail you a check. That has been a painstaking and long process for many users--so prepare for a longer wait if your refund goes back to SBTPG.
