You can change your filling status in the My Info section of TurboTax.

 

To check your Filling Status.  Follow the steps bellow.

 

To confirm your Filling Status

  1. Select My Info or Personal Info
  2. Click the down arrow next to your name
  3. You can see your filling status here.
  4. If you need to change it:
  5. Choose [Revisit]
  6. Continue the interview to About your household
  7. Select the correct status.

Five filing statuses

Generally, your filing status is based on your marital status on the last day of the year. You can choose:

IRS publication on Filling Status

**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
**Mark the post that answers your question by clicking on "Mark as Best Answer"

Did you already e-file?  If you already e-filed, you will have to wait for the e-file to be accepted or rejected.  If it is rejected you can make those changes in MY INFO and re-file.  If the IRS accepts the return you will have to wait until it has been fully processed and then prepare an amended return on a Form 1040X.
