How long does it take to get a check from tpg

My mail is being forwarded to a PO Box. I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the hold up. But I never got the first check and still waiting on the replacement one.

Tpg website is not helpful. I can't get ahold of a live agent I have been trying since the 18 of may . Still haven't received my check that they supposedly mailed out on the 18 the . Will not be using turbo tax next year

Because they mail return service requested, mail will not be forwarded to the new address. TPG will have to send it back to the IRS. Your information will need to be updated with the IRS & they will send the replacement check. Just in case anyone is in the situation I’m in

@Queen44 please elaborate more! Because I moved and all my mail forwarded went into effect March 1. But all this tpg stuff didn't come till after. I never received my first that was sent on March 8. I sent off the replacement paper on May 5 it was mailed out on May 10th.

All my mail is forward. They mail my check to me 4/8 found out they do not forward checks after I filled out the form so they send the second check back to the IRS after attempting the 2nd time this was 5/10.Irs still has not received it. I also had to call tpg and found out that's why I didn't get the second one after waiting 2 weeks again.

The way TPG sends out the checks, it ensures that it’s not forwarded to a new address. I’m guessing to cut down on any possible fraud. I requested for TPG to send my funds back to the IRS today. The rep said it should take approximately 2 weeks. I submitted an amend through TurboTax to update my address with the IRS. I’ll be working on getting in contact with the IRS this week to confirm everything is good on their end. It’s definitely been a long excruciating process but I’m not getting discouraged. All things happen for a reason even when we don’t see it at the moment. Hoping you have the best luck with your situation as well. And I’ll keep updating the post to help others cut down on wasting time from misinformation.

I actually just did the same today and the STPG rep told me they aren't allowing funds to be sent back to the IRS at this time and don't have a time frame for when this will be available, hopefully it really is only approximately 2 weeks for both of us! Good luck ill keep my stuff updated as I find out more info as well

@Queen44 An amended tax return is not an effective way to change your address with the IRS.   It takes the IRS more than six months to process an amended return.   If you need to change your address with the IRS:

I’ve done that process before and it changed before 6 months. Faith can go a long way. Thank you for the information.

I’m so frustrated. Check was supposedly sent out early May. Still haven’t received it now they said if you don’t get it, put in request for us to sent it back to irs. Not sure what to do?

The lady I spoke to today said that we could request to get it sent back!

I spoke to someone this morning too who said they aren't allowing funds to be sent back to the IRS at the moment and my request will go through as soon as it opens up

First check was sent out in March so had a second check mailed out and they mailed it May 6-10 I believe. Still have no luck so I called right at 9am for me when they open so I didn't have to wait on hold and requested to send back
