If you have tracked your return using the Where's My Refund? site and you show a direct deposit date, it should tell you what to do if you don't receive your refund within a certain amount of days. You would want to contact your banking institution to check on your refund. You may want to call the IRS directly, if your bank has no information on your refund and you want to check on the status.

It typically takes 24-48 hours for your return to go from the Pending Status to the Accepted Status.  Once the IRS accepts your return, it can take an additional 21 days for your refund to be deposited into your bank account.  

When you log into your TurboTax Online account, your filing status should be displayed on your homepage. You can also use our e-file status lookup tool to get your current status. 

You can also check your refund status directly through the IRS using these links: Where’s My Refund on IRS.gov or the IRS mobile app, IRS2Go to check your status.

The IRS stated that they will start depositing the Stimulus Payments into peoples bank accounts the third week of April.  This does not mean that you will receive yours then.   We will have more information once the government finalizes the details.

When it becomes available for you to withdraw from your bank account is based on your bank's deposit hold procedures.  You will have ask them.

Some banks will make the funds available the day they receive the DD request, others will wait until the release date. Few banks will truly disclose when they actually received the deposit request vs when they release the funds.

Once you e-file your return and the IRS accepts it, there is nothing that TurboTax can do to affect how quickly your refund is processed.  
 

The IRS is not able to give you an exact date for receiving your refund. They can only give you the "expected" amount of time it takes for them to process it, but nothing more. The IRS Where’s My Refund? site is the best place to go for information.

If you filed your 2020 taxes and haven't received your refund, your experience is very common -  the IRS is encountering major delays in processing 2020 tax returns, and is almost impossible to reach by phone.   
 

Why is this happening? Tax season (normally Jan 1 - Apr 15) is the busiest time of the year for the IRS. This year, they have also had to deal with major changes in the tax law, including ones that were passed retroactively in the past two weeks. They are also struggling with the same COVID workplace and workforce issues the rest of the country has encountered.
