How do you take a dependant off the tax form? When prompted to go back to the federal 1040 to correct I get an error message

If you have filed your 2024 tax return it cannot be changed.  You will have to amend the tax return that was filed.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

If you have not filed the tax return, then click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen.  You can delete the dependent.
