I assume you have the Desktop program. Why did you buy a second program? You can't get another free state or more efiles by installing another program. It doesn't work that way. It might have been cheaper just to buy the second state program in the first Deluxe. Call in and see if you can get a refund for the second program.

It's complicated. Another individual bought the 2nd Turbo Tax Deluxe, a "relative". The intentions was for me to start their return and send them the file to begin using Turbo Tax on their own. Turbo Tax #1 was for RI filings. Turbo Tax #2 was for MA filings. The RI forms in Turbo Tax #1 could not be deleted so the file could not be accepted in Turbo Tax #2. The "relative" developed brain cancer in April 2025 so springing for another state in Turbo Tax #1 was annoying but needs perspective.
