Are you trying to launch TT2022 from the app itself or from a tax data file? (Usually, if 2023 exists on your computer, opening a 2022 data file will open in 2023 for purposes of transferring, rather than the 2022 app).
Mac or PC (sounds like PC but I'm not sure).
This issue usually requires you to restart your computer. Close the TurboTax program and then restart the PC.
See if the problem persists.
Opened both from desktop icons. After this experience, I closed down both instances, and opened 2022 FIRST. I then ran 2023 and was able to view each years' respective file on separate monitors. Must just be some glitch in TurboTax's servers, as it appears that this is the first year they monitor which account is accessing their app. Glad that it finally did work as in the past, for this method is my SOP in tax prep!! Hope it does NOT happen again (fingers crossed)!!
Open the earlier one first (2022) and then the latest one (2023)…
That worked….thanks
Most of us like to compare our entries in the prior year version vs 2023, how we entered the data etc. The issue is resolved by opening the older version first however this is a 'patch' for this year. What if Turbotax blocks opening earlier versions of the software simultaneously starting with 2023? Then we'll have issues next year. Any idea how we can reach out to a Turbotax service rep to let them know of this issue?
