How can I look and see if Im eligible to get the stimulus check coming out?

A special round of stimulus checks, up to $1,400, was sent out by the IRS in late January 2025 to roughly one million taxpayers who were eligible for the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit but did not claim it on their 2021 tax returns. 

Eligible taxpayers received a separate letter notifying them of the payment. They could also check their 2021 tax returns to see if they left the Recovery Rebate Credit field blank or filled it out as $0.

What stimulus check are you asking about?  There is no stimulus check for a 2024 tax return.    The only possible stimulus check is the one from 2021 if you were eligible in 2021 and did not get it.   

Look at your online account with the IRS to see if they sent you $1400 in 2021.

If you could be claimed as someone else's dependent in 2021, you are not eligible for the payment.

If you were eligible and do not receive a payment soon from the IRS, the other way to get the payment is to amend your 2021 return to use the recovery rebate credit before April 15, 2025.   If you did not file a 2021 return at all, then prepare one and mail it in.
