Hello! When amending a return (which needs to be mailed), does Turbotax save the return or is the only saved return is the one that gets electronically filed?

I amended a return (2019), mailed it in, but it hasn't been processed and I was told to called and have a copy of the amended return. I sent in the only copy I printed out. I faxed in a request to a tax advocate for this situation, but I don't know if I will get help with this.

If you amended the tax return using TurboTax there will be a copy of the amended return and any changed forms and schedules included in the PDF of the tax return for the year amended.

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

-1040-X becomes your new tax return.

1040-X is based on your revised tax return and that is what you will see in TurboTax even though the original amounts are also on 1040-X.

TurboTax does not keep the originally filed return once you make changes for an amendment.

Have the 1040-X in front of you so you can prove that it is you who filed 

you can go back into TurboTax and print another copy.
