Hello turbo tax community i hope you aren't going through what i'm going through, scumbags at turbo tax how ya guys doing this fine day? Hope you guys are having a splendid day because i sure am not having a good time. Lets start this off, 5 months ago i filed my W2 a simple W2 from Publix supermarkets. I waited it out thinking that the corona virus pandemic has halted my tax return. All i could do is call turbo tax and talk to a human at the time and that's what i did. Talking to someone felt like it solved the issue, I don't recall who i was speaking with but she had claimed that i was getting my tax refund for 2019 and that she had the exact amount of what i was going to get. She then told me "don't worry its on the way " so i stopped worrying and just thought there was a delay in their systems due to corona, thinking completely positive. Another couple months pass i'm starting to really worry i proceed to call back and figure out why my tax return is taking an atrociously long time. A different lady picks up the phone i proceeded to ask her why my tax return still isn't here yet there was no solid answer no reason behind why i haven't received my return. The representative tells me the exact same thing the last lady told me don't worry its on the way i see it right here on my end, its on the way. SIX MONTHS! ITS NOW BEEN SIX MONTHS!. Alright so now that its been an extraordinarily long time since i put in my w2 for my 2019 tax return, I give turbotax a call. I browse through the internet trying to figure out a phone number to call TURNS OUT YOU NOW HAVE TO PAY TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ITS YEAR 2020 BOYS WERE **bleep**ED THE PROGRAM IS NO LONGER FREE. So now i'm extremely aggravated and my entire family is equally as pissed, because of the **bleep**ty situation i'm currently in after losing my job to a **bleep**ing pandemic. My entire family is going to call the better business bureau and report it up i advise anyone that was blatantly lied to, to do the same. Never have i had a problem in the past with using turbotax to file my taxes. Obviously there is a new found corruption within the company, don't take your W2 to turbo tax you will end up equally as **bleep**ed as i am. NEW UPDATE i wrote this out 6/5/2020 LOW AND BEHOLD after calling turbo tax 50+ times 6 different numbers i manage to break the system and talk to a real person?! this did and didn't solve the issue at the same time i was lied to by the past employees. How did the two representatives in the past give me the exact amount and the confirmation that the return is on the way? When i managed to somehow someway talk to a real person she told me that there are no notes on my account that i was ever spoken too and that i never even filled it. This is complete bull**bleep** i i beg of you fellow Americans TRUST ME on this one don't take the chance spend $50-100 to file your taxes elsewhere you will save yourself from being lied too, i just don't want this to happen to anyone else in the world no one should have to go through what i went through.
Was a TurboTax representative able to confirm that your tax return was e-filed and accepted by the IRS? It sounds as if that may have been what the representative that you spoke with initially was confirming.
Once that occurs, the return and all communication are handed off to the IRS - TurboTax doesn't get (and cannot get) updates about the status of your refund, once your tax return has been filed. We can only confirm if it was accepted, and troubleshoot if there are problems sending the return.
You can also check the status of your refund here: Where's My Refund? If your return still shows as Processing, this is an issue related to IRS department closures and staffing issues in most cases. From that point forward, only the IRS has any control over the return and the processing.
Also, the only source for additional information at this point is the IRS - so if your return has been accepted and is still processing please do not pay to upgrade your TurboTax product, as there isn't any additional information that we will be able to provide. You will need to speak with the IRS, and support options there are still limited. However, it appears that employees are beginning to return to work in phases at this time.
I am sorry for your frustration as well as the added stresses you are now facing. I hope it all works itself out for you very soon.
What was the number you called? I’ve been waiting since January 31st
I stayed up until after midnight on April 13th to get mine in without needing the deadline. And now in mid-June, still no return, and no way to contact IRS. I get the same notice as everyone else, "In processing".
I wonder - if I still haven't been paid my return by NEXT year, how are they going to take my news that I refuse to file for the next year until they've paid me for the last. I agree, this is egregious, at a time when people desperately need their income more than ever!

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate
How did you get to speak with a live person. I’ve only been able to reach automated systems that provide no help.
It depends.
Please see the attached link to see the IRS operational status at this point in time. This website is being updated as their operations change so check back often.
I need help getting my taxes. I've recently been forced into, what my employer calls, a reduction in force. Which means I have absolutely no income at the moment. I chose to pay your company $70.00 to get a speedy and efficient refund and i was sorely mistaken. So please do some work as you are a recipient of me paying you for a service that I have NOT received. Otherwise I will 100% file for the relinquishing of this fee so as I would attain my refund in full.

This is a user community forum, not a direct route to TurboTax Support, but we can tell you how to check on your tax refund. Many people have been experiencing delays at the IRS this year.
"I chose to pay your company $70.00 to get a speedy and efficient refund"
It's not possible to pay TurboTax to speed up a refund. Once the IRS has received a return, it's all up to the IRS. TurboTax has no control over what happens at the IRS and how long it takes, especially this year when the Coronavirus situation has impacted a lot of procedures at the IRS. We can't see your TurboTax fees here, so I'm not sure what extra fee you are referring to that you might have mistaken for that: Did you pay an extra 39.99 service fee (44.99 for California filers) to have your preparation fees paid out of your Federal refund? Or did you pay an extra fee for "TurboTax Live" for help from a CPA/EA expert? Neither of those is a fee to speed things up.
In any case, here's how to check on your Federal refund, and how to get help from the IRS or the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service:
If you efiled, you should first double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.
If you used Online TurboTax, you can sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.
If that showed it was accepted, you can use the "Where's My Refund" tool at the IRS website below to check on the status of your Federal refund.
https://www.irs.gov/Refunds
NOTE: When using that tool, be sure to enter the correct SSN and filing status. Use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund. The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.
If that "Where's My Refund" tool says your funds have been sent by the IRS, but you didn't receive them, report back for more info.
On the other hand, if the IRS tool says it is still being processed, and if it's been longer than 21 days, here's how to reach the IRS, but it may not be easy. Part of it is luck. Due to the Coronavirus, some of the IRS call centers are closed, some are operating with reduced personnel, some are gradually opening back up. Some users have reported this week that they have finally reached someone. Here is the normal method to reach an IRS live agent when they are operating smoothly, and I'll also tell you how to reach the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service.
IRS: 800-829-1040 (7AM-7 PM local time) Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
If you have no luck reaching the IRS, you can try contacting the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service for your area. They are still taking phone calls in most states. They are especially prone to help if you have an economic hardship, or if there have been continued delays with lack of info from the IRS. At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your IRS Taxpayer Advocate. If the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service can't/won't help you, ask them to transfer you to an IRS agent. A couple of users have reported that was a backdoor way to get to an IRS agent, at least for them.

You are referring to your 2019 tax refund -
Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
See this IRS website for federal tax refund FAQ's - https://www.irs.gov/refunds/tax-season-refund-frequently-asked-questions
If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.

What number did you use to actually reach a human at the IRS? I have been waiting 4 months for my refund, it is extremely simply, and I can't even get put on hold when I try to call the IRS, they just tell me to try again later and disconnect.

I'll tell you some steps, then I'll also tell you how to enlist the Taxpayer Advocate Service, if necessary. They may even be able to transfer you to the IRS.
