Another workaround for this issue
bottom left corner of your screen there’s an ^ and it says view form or view document, this will allow you to see the actual form that will be transmitted to IRS, scroll thru the doc until you find the FEMA code box (box C I believe) and delete the word Covid out of that box. Minimize the form and proceed thru that section of turbotax, you should be good to go after that. My return was accepted today after using this fix
Where is that view form section ?
I’m using turbotax deluxe on a PC and its at the very bottom left corner of the screen
Is this just on online computer or desktop
Delete the disaster form that is listed right above the 8915. Then go and fill out information again & this should fix it. It worked for me after being rejected twice.
I assume you are using the download/cd version instead of online. Do you know if i have always done it online can i move my return to download option without having to redo completely
I have done this a few tines but nothing changes on the form. There are no fema disaster codes and it looks like it did first time i filed. Did this happen for you as well?0
I have spent 3 hours and two days trying to fix this with their "REPS." I read this message board and you are all SAINTS. Thank you so much. I CANNOT believe they haven't put this information out to their reps. What a joke.
So make sure you go to TOOLS > Delete Forms > Delete Disaster Relief Form (and make sure your previous 8915-F form went away from the list). Make sure you have a copy of your 2021 Taxes before you delete that info -OR- take a screen shot of the numbers on your current one. Go back to the 1099R in wages and income and just do it the way you did it before. It won't put the Coronavirus back in Line C. It is a shame that we have to work around this for **bleep** near $300 of charges (wife has a business). Anyway, it just worked for me and submitted successfully! Good luck!
I am using downloaded version, maybe thats the difference? I had trouble using the other method suggested of going to tools then delete forms, maybe that method will work better for you?
I definitely had the word covid in the fima disaster codes box which had to be deleted
Yeah. I am on the website version. Not sure about the dowloaded version.
Im on website version as well. I have deleted form and re entered but form looks the same. There is no letter codes, just checking box for covid then entering info from 2021 lines that are numerical. It looks same as when i filed before and got rejected. So should it look different after form is deleted and you redo?
It didn’t look different for me. Just get through the reviews and before u file check out your return and make sure it did it correctly. That’s all I did.
I tried that. It didn’t work for me.
This finally worked for me! Before I only deleted the 8915 form. I had to delete the 2 forms, and it removed the Covid code. Hoping it gets accepted this time.
