did they give you any info on fixing it? they told me to
file by mail....
That’s what I was told also,
if this is a bug on their end no one should have to pay more for anything. they either need to fix the bug or send a general emailing stating we
need to file by mail then it's ridiculous there is a tax deadline... people need to
know what to do some rely on the refund to live we pay our taxes we pay for a service to file them on time this service needs to
follow through and fix the issue
Try this. It worked for me.
just got off the phone with them. I needed to delete the form and the worksheets and then go back to my return and answer the questions again and it fixed it. To delete the form, go to tools, more tools and delete forms. You have to delete the 8915 form the the worksheets related to the 2020 distributions. After I did this, it fixed the issue and my return is now accepted
Did you have any issues with federal taxes being rejected? It sure looks like I did everything correctly and did not have issues last year and it got rejected this year.
I fixed it. Go to tools, delete files, delete the 8915 and qualified distribution form. Go back to retirement area. Answer all the questions again. Review the file before submitting, it should be fixed at that point. Mine was just accepted. Definitely requesting a refund from TT.
you're a hero i did this and it worked. they should refund you !!!
From various posts, the software users appear to have found a workaround by manually editing the form. On-line users who started their return after 8915f was officially available do not seem to have the issue. I believe I found a way to solve the issue for users that already started/finished their return but were waiting on 8915f, and do not want to start over. Go to tax tools and delete the forms associated with the Qualified Disaster Withdrawals. You will then need to re-enter that you took the 2020 withdrawal and enter the amounts (deleting eliminates the information that TurboTax carries over from prior returns). I cannot confirm yet that the IRS accepted the e-file, but when I reviewed the finished 8915f form, it was properly filled out; nothing in C and box in D checked.
This is 100% correct! I just did it and it worked. You have to make sure to remove the 2020 Disaster Form and then go back and re-enter the information so make sure you have a copy of the form to reference. Thank so much for sharing! One hour speaking to a rep and chatting with a rep and it wasn't fixed. Three mins on a message board and I it fixed it. Federal return accepted!
After getting my return rejected twice, I followed your directions by deleting the 8915 forms, refilled out the info & successfully resubmitted my tax return. Thank you so much!!
See the responses below. I finally successfully got mine filed.
( Re: 8915F-T) I got the very same notices, 2/23/23, 3/2/23, 3/9/23, now yesterday 3/9/23 I got email from turbotax saying the forms were ready so I went to finish my tax forms and guest what !!! Still not able to finish and file !!! Same deal as last year except it took until after 3/24/22 to get the 2021 multiyear form. makes no sense to me ....that form was suppose to take care of the next few years....hence ( MULTIYEAR FORM)
I deleted the form and redo the retirement part. COVID still entered under C when I review the forms??
I deleted 8915-T as instructed after getting rejected once, but when I checked the forms again before refiling...COVID is still entered under C..?? I dont wanna get rejected again.
