Do I need to file form 8283 with my Federal taxes if I take the Standard Federal deduction?
I have approximately $9,000 worth of charitable donations that will reduce my State taxes, but not my Federal because they are less than the Federal Standard deduction. I had the same situation last year and TT included the 8283 in my State filing, but not in my Federal filing.
If I don't need form 8283 with my Federal then I can e-file it and then print & mail my state taxes including a completed form 8283. Please advise.

No, if you are claiming the standard deduction on your federal return, you do not have to include Form 8283 with your federal return.
Per the IRS, "You must fill out one or more Forms 8283, Noncash Charitable Contributions and attach them to your return, if your deduction for each noncash contribution is more than $500. If you claim a deduction of more than $500, but not more than $5,000 per item (or a group of similar items), you must fill out Form 8283, Section A. If you claim a deduction of more than $5,000 per item (or a group of similar items), you must obtain a qualified appraisal of the item or group of items and fill out Form 8283, Section B. If you claim a deduction of more than $500,000 for a contribution of noncash property, you must fill out Form 8283, Section B, and also attach the qualified appraisal to your return."
The Form is only required if you claim the noncash contribution on you federal return by itemizing vs. claiming the standard deduction.
