Do I need to file form 8283 with my Federal taxes if I take the Standard Federal deduction?
I have approximately $9,000 worth of charitable donations that will reduce my State taxes, but not my Federal because they are less than the Federal Standard deduction. I had the same situation last year and TT included the 8283 in my State filing, but not in my Federal filing.
If I don't need form 8283 with my Federal then I can e-file it and then print & mail my state taxes including a completed form 8283. Please advise.
