I completed my son's taxes yesterday, and he E-Filed the Federal already after it was completed. I reviewed everything and noticed that I forgot to include the Form 8958 with his Federal return. He received the text stating that the Federal was accepted by E-File. Do I have to amend his Federal now to include the Form 8958? If so, when do I do the amendment to include it. Thank you.

You only need to amend if adding the form changes your total refund or tax due.
If your return has been accepted, you might need to amend by filing a Form 1040-X. Click here for instructions Amend 2019. Please note that you should not try to amend your return until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund or your payment has cleared. If by editing the information does not change the refund or amount you owe, you do not need to submit the amendment.
