Federal tax refund held

After hours on the phone trying to talk to a human being at the IRS, I finally did get help. The system shows that the IRS issued a refund Mar 21. In checking this out I was to check with my bank. I did so and they have not received it. I double checked the routing and account numbers were correct. They were. The IRS person asked if a third party (Intuit Turbo Tax) was to deduct a processing fee. Yes and I told her what software I used. She made a call or calls (I wasn't a party to the call) and when she came back she indicated that Intuit or a third party handling refunds had not issued my refund. No reason given. The IRS person said they told her that a refund would be issued in 48 hours. It has been more than 10 days and still no refund. This is very upsetting to say the least. Made more so since it is impossible to talk to a person at Intuit and the online inquiry system doesn't help at all.

Federal tax refund held

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

LOL ... once the IRS releases the refund they have no control over what the processing bank can or will do with the refund that was sent.  I have no idea who "they" talked to but what they said to you  is totally immaterial.
