Fail to report something

I was asked a question about interest on checking accounts and failed to go back and answer it. How do I update that after I file? Is it possible?

the only solution is once the e-filed return is processed, go back and amend the return. As of now an amended return must be mailed in.  However, the IRS is working on allowing e-filing of 1040-X.  when and how is an open question.
