For two years now I have encountered the problem of my TurboTax Desktop for Mac program not updating the e-filing status to show that my returns have been electronically filed. The returns were successfully filed, as evidenced by my receiving followup messages verifying that they had been received and accepted by the IRS. The problem is that the program still considers the returns unfiled. As a result, I cannot use the program to easily amend the returns at a later date. I have tried numerous times to get TurboTax to resolve this problem, but so far they have not been able to do so. It appears to be a logic error in the program, not a problem with my computer. Hopefully TurboTax can identify the problem and fix it in a future program update.

May I ask if it is showing pending? Have you received an email with a rejection code?
At the top of the TurboTax page underneath the name I have assigned to the return, there is the word “Edited”. When I click on Check E-file Status, it says that I haven’t e-filed a return yet. No messages have been received indicating that the return is pending or has been rejected. The only messages I have received say that the return was received and accepted by the IRS. Hope this helps!

I have done this, three times now, with no success. Someone from the programming side at TurboTax needs to look at the problem. It most definitely is a logic problem in the desktop program for Mac.

Thanks! Glad to hear that IT is looking into the problem. I appreciate the update!
Your return has been received and will be forwarded to the taxing agency at the appropriate time.
Thats's what shows in the electronic filing history. Email says the return was rejected. Program says pending. I am on the mailing list.
I am confused. How is it that my return is awaiting forwarding to the taxing agency when last week I received messages saying that the return had been received and accepted by the IRS? Also, if your program says that it has yet to be sent to the IRS, then how could it have been rejected? The whole situation makes no sense to me.
Yesterday I got a message saying that an update to TurboTax had been made and that this should fix the problem I have been having. I loaded the update this morning, and the problem continues. Although I successfully filed my 2022 return as evidence by followup messages indicating that it had been received and accepted by the IRS, the program is still saying that I have not filed the return. It appears that a problem relating to e-filing has been fixed, but the problem must have been a different one. Please have IT look into the problem I have identified with the e-filing status not being properly updated in your desktop for Mac version. This is a problem that has been going on for at least 2 years. Thanks!
Please ensure you are following the instructions here to update the software, in case there was something missing in the update.
Please let us know if the problem is still ongoing. @mshawkine52.

I have the same issue with the latest Turbotax Desktop for Mac Download - I forced an update through the Turbotax menu (it says I have the latest). I also cleared the browser cache and cookies and rebooted.
It still says that "I have not efiled yet" when I check for efile status.
I first got an email notification saying efile was rejected with code IND-032-04 'SpousePriorYearAGIAmt' mismatch. I made Turbotax change that to 0 for the Spouse (seems like another Turbotax bug - it puts the same prior AGI for both MFJ filers) and efiled again and this time I got an email notification saying the return has been accepted.
The return, however, still says that I have not efiled. How can this basic stuff not work? If I need to amend my return, I have no way to do so till the efile status is reflected correctly.
(seems like another Turbotax bug - it puts the same prior AGI for both MFJ filers)
This is not a bug ... the FILE tab interview asks if you filed jointly in the prior year and if you said yes then the same AGI for both of you is automatically entered per the IRS regulations. Or if you used the same TT account and transfers in the prior year info the program has that information automatically.
Now if you did not file an original return jointly and amended to file jointly then the program needed the original AGI for each of you on the originally filed returns. The program only looks at the last filed return you transferred and if that was the amended then you had to override the amount on file.
Well, the IRS is rejecting the return when the same (last year's) MFJ AGI is entered for both filers for verification (and it was automatically taken by Turbotax from last year's original MFJ filing). So it's either a Turbotax bug, or IRS is mistakenly rejecting it. It got accepted when the non-primary AGI was changed to 0. Others have reported the same issue in a different thread, that's how I got to know of it.
My main issue is that Turbotax desktop still shows my return as 'not filed'.
