E File Rejected - Non-Qualified income

I am getting a message which I don't understand.  "The sum of all Form W-2s, 'WagesAmt' must not be greater than the sum of 'WagesSalariesAndTipsAmt' in the return and sum of all ....(it goes on for a while here)   This return cannot be electronically filed due to a processing error related to the Other Income items listed on 1040 Schedule 1, line 8.  This issue will be resolved but there is no estimated date for when the update will be available."

It then gives me the option of waiting a few weeks or submitting the return by mail.

I have a W-2 which is Non-Qualified income.  I have had this for many years.  I look back at last year's TT and it takes the amount and puts it in the 1040 line 1a, which is called 'Total amount from Forms W-2'.  For some reason TT this year does not put it in that line, and instead puts it in Line 8 (Other Income).

Is this a TT problem that I am supposed to wait for a resolution?  If it is, I don't see the sense in submitting by mail, because the forms are in error that I would be sending.

This one is an IRS issue.  They have said that they will have some issues ironed out on February 6th so check back then.

Since the information given to you for this issue indicates that the solution may take a while to be implemented, you have the option of filing by mail now. However, the filing deadline of April 18 is several weeks away so you may wish to wait to see if you can file electronically at a later date.

Thanks for the input.  Is this telling me it is a TT software problem or is it an IRS problem?  All I can tell is that TT is putting the information into the IRS forms differently this year than the past several years.  I cannot tell if that is because IRS changed their forms and requirements or if it is a problem with the TT software.

Correctly stated.  I resubmitted it on Feb 7 and it was accepted by the IRS.  Thanks.
