Accepted means your tax return is now in the government's hands and has passed the initial inspection (your verification info is correct, dependents haven't already been claimed by someone else, etc.).
After acceptance, the next step is for the government to approve your refund.
First, they look for things like back taxes and unpaid child support. If they find any debts, they'll offset (reduce) your refund to cover the outstanding amount. Once they are satisfied that you have no outstanding debts, they will approve and then issue your refund.
Think of the e-filing/refund process along the lines of applying for a job; although the employer (government tax agency) has received (accepted) your job application, they still have to review (approve) your application before they grant you an interview (refund).

hi
@shirleymoliga Is there a question that you have or an issue you're experiencing?
What does it mean when turbotax says my $ is on it's way
The best way to check your refund status and confirm if your money is on it's way, is through the IRS Where's My Refund? tool. This will allow you to track your refund and get an estimated deposit date for your funds.
They said my taxes was received and accepted but they are under view maybe until june 6 2020
Im putting the correct info but wont let me go through
Would you please clarify what you mean by you are putting the correct info but won't let me go through? Where are you putting information and what error are you getting?
my taxes were accepted by the i.r.s but when I go to wheres my refund it says I have to wait 24 to 48 hours before inquiring about where my taxes are. I filed on the 11th and was accepted on the 12th of February. Trying to find out if something is wrong. Why would it say that?
Sometimes it can take longer than 48 hours for the status to update on the Where's My Refund website.
Please click here to track the status of your return.
My tax return said the same thing. Did your status change eventually because mine still is the same.
What status are you referring to? Is your return showing pending or accepted?
My return went from pending to its on its way....I have looked on track my refund but it tells me that it can't give me any information to get with who I filed with....so if it says it on its way should I be receiving my return soon
