The bank account that was used when setting up my direct deposit has been closed. I need to update my DD banking information for my 2021 Tax Return

Once the tax return has been filed and accepted by the IRS the method of receiving the federal tax refund cannot be changed.
If the direct deposit of the refund is refused by the bank then the refund is sent back to the IRS. The IRS will then mail a refund check to the address entered on the tax return.
Have you filed 2021 yet? You have to print and mail 2021. You can't use the online version to do 2021. How about 2022? If the bank rejects your deposit the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return.
Not clear if you mean 2021 or 2022, and if you mean for a return already filed or a return that you plan to file.
If you already filed, you can't update your account, the IRS won't take that change (to prevent from being tricked into paying the wrong person). When the bank bounces the deposit, the IRS will mail a paper check in 3-4 weeks to the address you used on your return. You can try calling the IRS and telling them about the closed account, that may shorten the time needed to mail a paper check.
If you have not filed yet, certainly you should update your account in the tax program.
