While you do get a date from the Internal Revenue Service as to when your refund should be available, they do not specify exact times. If you have a deposit date of today and have not received your refund yet, be patient.

There are no fixed times or hours when you can receive your 2024 tax refund during the 2025 Tax Season.

Additionally, each bank varies on when they post direct deposits. Even if your bank "usually" posts direct deposits at a certain time, they may handle Tax Refunds differently. Some banks might post once in the morning and once in the afternoon, only one time a day, and some may instantly.

In the Community, we do not have access to your TurboTax account and can not tell you where your refund is or why you do not have your deposit yet.

If your refund date has passed and you have not received your refund, it may be that your direct deposit, for a variety of reasons, was not able to be completed and your refund is coming as a paper check to the address on your return.

Cross River Bank

Cross River Bank

If the bank has concerns with the validity of the check, they can contact Intuit directly at 1-800-335-9612.   A dedicated team is available for verification purposes.  Also, if the check is uncashed after 90 days, the check will be returned to the IRS.  The taxpayer can then work with the IRS to receive their tax return.

The check was considered
Voided once the check was reversed I should not have to go through this when it should have never resulted in this if you all were going to start
A pilot program for something like this you should have made sure customers did not have to experience something so horrible to receive a refund or these checks did not bounce as mine did and couldn’t cash at a money center

lol stop saying that to people, turbo tax is ridiculous. I had a supervisor tell me you all should’ve been educated on this. Her direct words were “they’ve been given plenty of education material on this subject. I don’t understand why they’re still saying that” so if you chose the five day early option, and your direct deposit was declined you are not going to automatically get a check from the IRS you are going to get a check from cross River bank and it is incredibly hard to cash. If you have a bank, take it to your bank in your bag will put a six day hold on it and that’s all you can do. good luck

Cross River Bank

Well, hopefully you didn’t destroy the check because it isn’t actually fraudulent. I was told it was fraudulent by one bank and three different TurboTax people before I talk to a supervisor who told me that that was the actual check. You need to go to an actual bank and put it in as a deposit and they will hold it for six days and then you can get your funds.

Cross River Bank

I’ve been dealing with this since February 19th I’m one of the earlier customers who first experience this issues and the bank held it and

it did not clear it was reversed and after calling is when the escalation forms were created and it still has not been processed cleared or resolved

Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand you are encountering issues with cashing your TurboTax Up to 5 Days Early tax refund check. We are committed to ensuring you access your refund swiftly and smoothly. Please rest assured that your check is legitimate and contains several security features to facilitate a hassle-free deposit.

Tips to deposit (we recommend depositing your check to avoid delays) or cash your check:

  • Deposit at a bank: Depositing your check into your bank account is preferred over cashing it. Check-cashing locations may charge fees and be less likely to cash large checks like tax refunds.
  • Name Matching: For bank deposits, ensure the name on your check matches the name on the bank account where you intend to deposit it.
  • Bank Holds: Your bank may place a temporary hold on the funds until the check clears. This is a standard bank policy and is not an indication the check is fraudulent. We have no control over this process.
  • Bank and check cashing limits: Many banks and check cashing locations have maximum limits on check amounts they will cash. Ask your bank or check-cashing location what their limit is prior to visiting to determine whether you can cash it there.
  • Check Cashing Tips: The person(s) whose name(s) are on the check must be present and present ID to cash the check. For example – if a check name says “John Doe and Jane Doe” on it, then both John Doe and Jane Doe need to cash the check together in person. Each person must bring a valid government-issued identification card – driver’s license, passport, state-issued ID card.
  • Enhanced Security: This check is issued with the highest security standards. If your bank or check-cashing service has any concerns, they can verify it directly with Intuit by calling 1-800-780-9247. A dedicated team is available to assist with verification.
  • Check Returns: If your check is uncashed after 90 days, we will void your check and return your refund to the IRS. You may then work directly with the IRS to receive your tax refund.

Your refund check contains security features to ensure a hassle-free deposit, including:

  • Magnetic ink that's only readable by special check cashing machines.
  • Reflective ink shows hidden words if the check is copied.
  • Images on the check that disappear if the check is copied.
  • Microtext printed on the check that is too small to see with the naked eye, and too small to be copied or scanned.
  • Check background printed with special ink that fades to white when copied and bleeds when it comes in contact with liquids.
  • Special test strips that react to check washing chemicals such as acetone.

If you have tried all of the items above and are still having issues with getting your check cashed, you can also reach out to us at 1-800-335-9612 and request a new check.

As CatinaT1 mentioned above, there is a dedicated team that has been set up to assist with issues just like yours.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period.
