So somebody that file their taxes and don't have fees TT card is still issue through SBPTG?
@SoSleepy30 Therein lies the confusion and everyone's frustrations... No one has or can get a definitive answer to that question... Just speculations right now based on numerous website FAQs and such... but no one has been able to get an exact answer by anyone who knows 100%.
@cclemons1998 you right....I'm just trying to figure out why people think the TT cards are issue through SBPTG?
@SoSleepy30 Not sure where they got the info but some individuals on here have stated that is how the TT cards are issued because the fees are processed through them... and SBTPG is a Green Dot owned company... So it's feasible.
@cclemons1998 @SoSleepy30 - I suspect all the cards are issued by GreenDot.
Greendot is a Bank and can hold deposits; that is why I suspect the routing number on all the cards is 124303120, which is Greendot's ABA / Routing number. Anybody have a different routing number? (this number is public information - google it!)
SBTPG is a non-bank subsidiary of Greendot and can not hold deposits.
I think the question of whether the cards will receive the stimulus checks is a question to be asked of Greendot - it's their card and they are the bank. TT nor SBTPG are the bank
I did access my return transcript, it does not show the account or routing number.
New article claims many payouts will start today from IRS to DD recipients
I'm not worrying about the turbo tax card Its about having the fees taken out of my taxes if that's the reason I have to wait for check or the irs to make a site to out in my info that sucks and I won't be doing that again. I can only imagine how many people used their taxes to pay fees and that might mess it up for them.
I think what it boils down to now is whether TT card was issued THROUGH SBTPG. In their website it says if you paid for fees through them then got a direct deposit, the stimulus will go there. If you got a check or a card issued THROUGH SBTPG, then you will receive a check. So is our TT card considered a direct deposit or was it issued specifically through SBTPG. I am thinking the former as opposed to the latter specifically because I had an account set with TT card before I had an "account" through SBTPG. We will all have to wait and see. When (or if) someone gets the deposit in their TT card, be the real MVP and let us know!
@kenandron I accessed my return transcript as well and this is the first year I did the turbo card so I looked at this years and previous years and it does not show my DD on any years so I don’t think that is something on the transcript. I’m pretty sure if the routing number and account number match on your return it’ll go thru but I guess we will see in a couple days and I hope people post on here what happens so we are all informed. In this together!!
According to this link paper checks can be expected to be mail sometime between May and August. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.news4jax.com/news/morning-show/2020/04/09/50-million-americans-to-r...
The turbo tax card is issued through green dot bank; SBTPG is not a bank (owned by green dot however). The card talked about on SBTPG site is the Walmart money card; not the turbo tax card, although both are issued through green dot. It is a lot of confusing information . And even more confusing when people are claiming that the dd info on your tax return is not what is sent to IRS, but is entered after the return is filed. I have an old return from a couple years ago, which is a copy of before I filed and it has the same dd info before and after.
According to The Washington Post, which has reviewed a timetable from the IRS:
“If we if have your [bank] information you’ll get it within two weeks,” Mnuchin said.
If there is no account information, stimulus checks first will be sent to taxpayers with the lowest income:

I paid for tax preparation using Santa Barbara TPG this tax season. How will I receive my Economic Impact Payment?
The IRS will be distributing Economic Impact Payments directly to taxpayers and TPG will not play a role in facilitating these payments. Unfortunately, TPG does not have any visibility into this information, therefore our agents can not answer any questions regarding these payments.
The IRS will issue direct deposits to taxpayers that received a direct deposit. An IRS-issued check will be mailed to taxpayers that received a check printed from their tax professional's office or a debit card issued through Santa Barbara TPG.
So if you had the fees taken out by sbtpg and then had direct deposit you should be fine. It's the people that got a paper check or card is what you have to worry about.
Yes, but what people are concerned about is whether the TT card is issued through SBTPG. I don't think it is, but others are concerned.
