College son accidentally claimed himself

My full time college son accidentally  claimed himself when he did his taxes and we just realized it a day later. I know we need to amend his return when it’s able to be amended. How and when do I move forward with my return? Should I wait until he gets his refund? Can we still file electronically?

Unfortunately you will need to file a paper return because there is no way to get around the e-file system once your dependent has already filed and claimed themselves.  Paper file with your dependent included on your return. His return will need to be amended.
