Child tax credit and stimulus question
I have filed 2020 taxes and both state and federal were accepted 4/15/21.I opted for turbo tax fee to come from my refund but I have yet to get my refund and despite having 2 dependents under 18 (whom I claimed) and I never received my child tax payment for July. Also turbo tax is trying to charge my checking account to get the $150 I apparently still owe in fees for using turbo tax to file, BUT its SUPPOSED to have came out of my refund payment. What am I missing or what have I done wrong? I'm so lost and confused and need this money everyone around me is receiving!! please help!

Child tax credit and stimulus question
TURBOTAX TOOK MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT
Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund? Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive? Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account. TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

Turbo Tax says......
We understand that these are unprecedented times and we’re committed to helping our customers who are experiencing hardships. If you’re in need of assistance, call us by the Tuesday prior to your debit date at 1-888-808-1723 to speak with a trained specialist and mention “auto-debit”, or visit TurboTax Support.
And for the child tax credit monthly payment:
This is a brand new system thrown together by the IRS after Congress changed tax laws in the middle of the tax season. There are going to be bugs, glitches and mistakes made and folks will unfortunately have to be patient until they sort it out.
If you do not receive the monthly payments you will be able to get the CTC on your 2021 tax return.

Child tax credit and stimulus question
I am disabled and received all three stimulus checks However, my two dependent children did not receive
A check. I filed with TurboTax free Through IRS to claim them both and receive refund on February 4, 2020.
IRS20 says they don’t know my social security number and to contact my tax preparer. I called TurboTax and spoke with Adam who saw my return, like I see. I used an automated tax program through TurboTax listing my dependents.
I have custody of my Nephew and Niece and have them all their lives.almost. 11yrs. And 10 yrs.
Has IRS received my 2020 tax return? What can be done?

Child tax credit and stimulus question
@Sharron3 When you filed your 2020 return did you use the recovery rebate credit to get the EIP payments for the two children who you claim as dependents? If so there should be an amount on line 30 of your Form 1040. The IRS is reviewing every return that has an amount on line 30, so refunds are delayed.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
From this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue
As of June 23, 2021, we had 17.5 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.
How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We have processed all error free returns received prior to 2021, and continue to work the returns that need to be manually reviewed due to errors. We are rerouting tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened and processed in the order received. As the return is processed, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues depends on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.
What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.
