Cant e-file an amended 2019 Federal and NY return using 2019 deluxe: e-filing closed for the season

Fed says this:

The page was updated Oct-14...  It doesnt really make a lot of sense to allow efiling of 2019 returns if the e-file window was going to be permanently closed for 2019 returns on Oct 15th.

NY says this:

https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/file/amended_return.htm

Is there any hope that this will get resolved to actually allow efiling of amended 2019 returns? Supposedly efiling was just reopened a few days ago...

Running into the same issue. I filed my Federal by paper but NY State really want efile.

Not all states accept e-filed amended state returns. Please see Step 4 in  How to File an Amended Tax Return with the IRS for more information.

Step 4 in the link provided says:
"Step 4: Submit your amended forms

Beginning with the 2019 tax year, you can e-file amended tax returns. If you used TurboTax to prepare Form 1040-X, follow the software's instructions to e-file the amendment."

The link I provided for NY state says:
"How to change or amend a filed return

The Tax Department accepts electronically filed amended returns."

Since both FED and NY allow efiling ammended 2019 returns (and in fact encourage it) Id like to do that.

The only problem seems to be that TurboTax Deluxe 2019 for windows is broken and not allowing me to do it!

For 2019 tax year, e-filing is no longer available for Federal or State. You will need to print and mail in your NY amended state return. Please see this link for more information: Can I e-file 2019, 2018, or earlier tax returns?

I cannot even e-file the amended 1040-X return because it says it is closed for the season. Yet TurboTax instructions state that 2019 forward is allowed. It seems like an update needs to be released to enable e-filing. My product as of this writing 2019 TurboTax Deluxe Desktop is fully updated. See screenshot(s) below.
