Can't open 2017 tax return file

I need to amend my 2017 tax return.    I downloaded the return from TurboTax in a file called TAXRETURN.  I also downloaded the 2017 software for TurboTax.    When I try to open the original return that I just downloaded, it says 'having trouble trying to open your file, Error 102346'

What can I do to recover a TAXRETURN that I can open?

Can't open 2017 tax return file

See this TurboTax support FAQ for Error 102346 - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/bugs-and-error-messages/help/error-102346/01/26481

You have to download the tax data file and then open the tax data file using the TurboTax software.  The tax data file has a file extension of .tax2017 for tax year 2017.  To open the data file click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.  Click on Open Tax Return.  Browse to the location where the data file was downloaded.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download .tax file
