I've been checking back with Turbotax regarding the change made by the IRS to the payment deadline. As of today it says Turbotax is still waiting on guidance from the IRS on how to have users amend their payment date to the new May 17 deadline. April 15 is two weeks away and I am concerned the IRS will not resolve this in time. Last year when the deadline was extended to July Turbotax allowed users to cancel their payment on the Turbotax website, then users could schedule their payment directly with the IRS, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Will there be a point where Turbotax will allow for this option if the IRS does not respond, or is there already a way to do this (not by calling the IRS, they said I have to go through Turbotax to cancel the payment)?
