Why do you need to change it? You shouldn’t need to amend for that. Or did you itemize deductions. The Standard Deduction or Itemized Deductions are on 1040 line 12. It is automatically applied unless your itemized deductions are more.

I qualify for the $6000 tax deduction for seniors but why is it not being applied to my return?
