I'm in the same boat. I get this on the IRS website:
And so far NOTHING from any Turbo Tax people on why we've been left out in the cold.
I know it's frustrating to wait. The IRS is still updating this system, so no information here does not mean that you will not get a payment. Many taxpayers are seeing this same status.
The IRS already has information necessary to distribute a payment to you if:
If you are qualified, you will receive a payment, even if your information is not available today at the IRS Get My Payment site.
If direct deposit information can be gathered from any of the above, the IRS is attempting to deliver payments via direct deposit before mailing checks.
There is no other way to check on the status of your payment aside from this website. No additional information is available. Until you receive your check, deposit, or letter from the IRS or your status changes on this website, there isn't any way to know anything more.
First off, thank you for your post. Its one of the rare posts I've seen with anything other than "please visit the IRS Get My Payment portal", which as you know is not working at all for a lot of us.
That said, please understand why this is more than frustrating. All these news articles call out Turbo Tax by name, and go on to explain that the reason for the issue is that (apparently) millions of Turbo Tax and H&R Block customers paid for their fees out of their returns. Quote from US News and World Report: "That's because tax preparers set up a temporary account where an individual's tax refund is first deposited. The preparer can then take out fees before transferring the money into the individual's account." Meaning the IRS never got our bank information in the first place; it came to Turbo Tax, they took out their fee, THEN passed it to us.
And yet, all we've heard is "hey, the IRS is working on it."
