If I clicked to receive my taxes on a TurboPrepaid Card is it automatically set up to direct deposit for my tax return when I activated my turbo card?

I filed mine on the 18th of February and it says approved for both I'm still waiting for mine can someone help me figure out why it is taking so long last year it wasn't this long I don't know what is going on.

DO NOT USE THIS METHOD THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AFTER I OPENED FOR MY REFUN AND REFUSE TO FIX THE ERROR SAYING MY ID DIDNT PASS BS! MY ID HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM FOR ANY CARD AND IVE USED GREEN DOT BEFORE WITCH IS THE CARD ISSUER THIS IS A SCAME AND NOT EVEN WORTH IT NOT EVEN SURE IM GETTING MY REFUND OR IF THE COMPANY IS POCKETING MY MONEY KM A SINGLE PARENT OF TWO AND THIS IS BULL [REMOVED].

These people I set up direct deposit through them for my taxes and my state got except approved on the 5th and I still never got it so I called them and they told me that they're sending to me in the mail and I said why I said direct deposit through TurboTax should we have no Bank information TurboTax is b*******

I used the Turbo card last year and I didn’t get my money until 6pm the day it was “delivered”. I also opted in for text alerts but was never alerted so always check your balance online or call because with my experience they were super late with telling me my money was on there and all transactions.

Also, if you chose to pay any fees out of your Federal refund, the IRS first sends the funds as a direct deposit to an intermediary bank where the fees are subtracted.  That intermediary bank then sends it on to your card in a second direct deposit.   If you used that option, it's possible to check on its status at the level of the intermediary bank by using the taxpayer portal at:

I still have YET to receive a turbo tax card! I ordered on the 3rd! The tracking link on the online website said printing for two days. After that, the link completely disappeared! I called to have a new one sent but never even received confirmation of this and STILL CAN'T track the card. My refund has been approved and said to be sent BY the 25th. I have ALWAYS gotten my refunds early. WHERE'S MY CARD?? WHERE DOES MY REFUND GO IF I CAN'T ACTIVATE THE ACCOUNT? I can't speak with any live agents unless you pay for PREMIUM which I DO NOT NEED because my filing is very basic! This is definitely a scam to get more money! I will NEVER go through turbo tax again. This is absolutely ridiculous!

@mackrolanda   You're posting in an old answered thread from last year that will not show up in the forum as needing help.    TurboTax Support can't help you much with the Turbo Prepaid VISA Card.  That's managed by a third-party banking company.     The Card's customer service is at (888) 285-4169.

If you're using Free Edition and don't have TurboTax phone support, (PLUS or higher is required), if you have Twitter or Facebook, you can contact a support agent directly via messaging at one of those.

I don't know how long Turbo Card keeps your funds if the card account is not yet activated, and when they would send it back to the IRS.   If it were to get sent back, however, the IRS would issue a paper check by mail to the address on the return.

There's another link in the chain, however, if you chose to pay any fees out of the Federal refund.  In that case, the deposit goes first from the IRS to another third-party bank first where the fees are subtracted.  Then that intermediary bank takes out the fees and sends the rest to the Turbo Prepaid Card's bank.   In that case, if the Turbo Card were to refuse your deposit, it would go back to that intermediary third-party bank, who would issue you a paper check in the mail.

Update: Hey guys! So completely embarrassing, but because of the discrete envelope, my grandmother didn’t realize that my turbo card had arrived. She out the card up and didnt realize that’s what i was waiting on. She told me yesterday that there was a piece of mail she had misplaced and it felt like a card in it! It was indeed my turbo card. My refund was deposited into the acciunt via acct and routing number provided by Green Dot Bank on THE day the IRS said it was to arrive. Because I didn’t know she had my card all along for about a week, I ordered a new one and was nervous it wouldn’t get here either. FORTUNATELY, the fund stayed in the acct and my grandmother new what to expect this time. I ordered the new card late last Tuesday and received it yesterday! Funds are accessible immediately upon activating the card. Sorry about the false alarm!! Hope this makes someone feel a little better! Goodluck everyone!

It doesn't get deposited on your card until your status changes to "sent" this will happen after it says "approved" for a couple to three weeks. Also any one filing child tax credit or EIC there is a delay this year. Hope this helps!!

Did you ever receive your refund? I’m having issues just getting the card sent to me. I used to have access to the card info online where I could make online purchases but now that information has disappeared. I’m worried someone is trying to take my refund once it has been deposited.
