TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
As stated on the IRS federal tax refund website, it may take up to 5 days after being sent before the refund will be available in your bank account.
Or did you request to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund?
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

Don't know where you are looking but Turbotax is never informed about the status of a refund or balance due.
if you had your fees deducted from the refund, it first goes to a third party bank to split between Turbotax and you. it is then forward on. if you provided correct direct deposit info it could take up to 5 days for your bank to clear it. if the info is not correct it goes back and a paper check is issued that's sent to the address on the return.
