2021 Taxes

I have 2021 software but it is not currently installed on my computer.  Can I install it now, or will it not be properly updated?  

I did my return on line and then purchased the software.  I have a print out of my return and the CD. 
Also, it was home and business.  If I use premier will it work?

Maybe someone else knows for sure, but 2021 TurboTax desktop is no longer supported by Intuit so you may not be able to activate the program with your product key.

TurboTax no longer supports desktop software for 2021, nor do they provide updates for it.  Sorry.....what are you trying to do with 2021?

You said that you "did my return online" and then purchased the software.   Did you complete the return online?  If you finished preparing it using online then you should be able to get a copy from your online TT account.   But if you started it online and then switched to desktop, the copy online will be incomplete.

  You have to access your own account and/or  print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

Start a 2025 return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

It's not "officially" supported, but if you already own it, it won't hurt to try and install it and see what happens.  Also, if you purchased the software from Intuit as a download (and not a CD), you can go into your account and get a new copy of the installer file.  I believe the downloadable installer file is usually the most recent version they had.
