It's your job to review your 1040 and 1040-X to be sure they are correct before you SUBMIT them.

That said, what you briefly describe sounds like you may need to go to a tax pro for help straightening it out. For example there are no longer any exemptions (starting in 2018). TT automatically calculates your standard deduction. The return cannot be e-filed without something on line 12 of form 1040 (2020). Dependents do not, usually, get the full $12,400 deduction.
