i E-filed my 1040X in February, it was accepted but i haven't received my funds from the IRS. Do i need to mail in a paper return of the 1040X?

What tax year was the 1040X for?
Even during “normal” times it takes about four months for the IRS to process an amended return. During the pandemic and due to the severe backlog at the IRS it is taking much longer—six months or more for many amended returns. Do not expect quick results from amending. When the IRS issues a refund for an amended return it will be by check. They do not make direct deposits for refunds for amended returns. You can watch for information here:

Efiled a 1040X in February? That seems a little early to efile or amend 2020. Heck they probably just opened efiling for regular 1040 returns. I don't think the amended 1040X wasn't available until late Feb. And you shouldn't file an amended return until the first return is fully processed and you got the first refund or paid the tax due.
@VolvoGirl I am also doubtful that a 1040X could have been e-filed in February. The 1040X for 2020 was not yet even available, and you could not e-file a 2019 1040X. I think the "accepted" status was for the original return, and no amended return was really filed.
@imax2100 Please explain what year you think you amended and what you did.
