If you transferred last year's TurboTax return over, TurboTax has already entered the capital loss carryover for you. 

If you need to enter the capital loss carryover yourself, follow the steps below.

• Open (continue) your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
• Click My Account (top right of your screen).
• Select Tools.
• In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
• In the search bar, type carryover.
• In the results box, highlight carryover, then click GO.
• You'll land on Did you have investment losses you couldn't claim in 2015? Click Yes and follow the onscreen instructions.  If you know the carryover amounts, you can just enter them in TurboTax. Otherwise, TurboTax can help you determine these amounts.

Note: If using the TurboTax CD/Download software, you'll use the Find function (instead of "My Account") to search for the topic.
