How do I get a copy of my installment agreement from the IRS?

Call the IRS:  1-800-829-1040  hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

Or go to this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/payments/online-payment-agreement-application

You can view details of your current payment plan (type of agreement, due dates, and amount you need to pay) by logging into the Online Payment Agreement tool using the  Apply/Revise button  below.

There's nowhere on that page to see your present agreement.

Reviewing a Payment Plan

You can view details of your current payment plan (type of agreement, due dates, and amount you need to pay) by logging into the Online Payment Agreement tool using the Apply/Revise button below.

What You Can Change Using the Online Payment Agreement Tool

You can use the Online Payment Agreement tool to make the following changes:

  • Change your monthly payment amount
  • Change your monthly payment due date
  • Convert an existing agreement to a Direct Debit agreement
  • Reinstate after default

You can log into the Online Payment Agreement tool using the Apply/Revise button below.

How To Revise an Online Payment Plan

Log in to the Online Payment Agreement tool using the Apply/Revise button below. On the first page, you can revise your current plan type, payment date, and amount. Then submit your changes.

If your new monthly payment amount does not meet the requirements, you will be prompted to revise the payment amount. If you are unable to make the minimum required payment amount, you will receive directions for completing a Form 433-F Collection Information Statement (PDF) and how to submit it.

If your plan has lapsed through default and is being reinstated, you may incur a reinstatement fee.

The instructions in the answer are not followable. It mentions calls to action that don't exist on the page it specifies.

You went to this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/payments/online-payment-agreement-application#heading003

Did you click on the blue button Apply/Revise as Individual

The problem with the reply or answer is not necessarily the instructions, but that the mortgage companies (guessing the original question is the same) want a copy of the payment plan that includes all the years and information regarding the plan.  Not just date and amount.  The IRS does not offer anywhere online this information and when you call to ask, they act as though they have no idea what you are talking about.  There is a huge disconnect between what is available and what banks want.  Guessing it is just a way for banks to disqualify your loan.

No. That button does not exist. What a patronizing response.

This is correct. Eventually I put my loan officer on hold and called the IRS who chewed out the loan officer. We bought the house 2 weeks later.

How do I get a copy of my installment agreement from the IRS?

Ok so I can get to this site, click that blue button that you circled here... But on the following page there is literally no options to be able to review my payment plan nor download a copy of any kind of file.

It directly jumps me to the step for changing my future payment information without even reviewing the current information.

I too, need this for a mortgage, and cannot for the life of me find what I need.

@mitch87   Then you will need to contact the IRS and speak directly to an agent since the website did not give you what you needed.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.
