Are his W2 wages less than $6300?  Are his 1099-MISC (if any) wages less than $400?

$5800.00 and can not find misc.?

Since his W2 wages are less than $6300, he is not required to file, unless:

1) He had taxes withheld that he wants refunded, or

2) He had self-employment income (reported on a 1099-MISC) exceeding $400
