I moved but IRS doesn't have my new address

Hi, I moved last year in June and never updated my address with IRS. So they still have my old address in their system. I have filled out my tax return documents but haven't filed yet. I didn't see any place asking if I moved or is there an address change. I wonder if I file it now, would IRS reject it due to address mismatch? Thanks!

If you move before filing your tax return, put the new address on your return. The IRS will update your records when they process your return.

If you move after filing your return, you should have the post office forward mail to your new address. Some post offices do not forward government checks, so you may also want to change your address with the IRS. You can use IRS Form 8822, Change of Address to notify them of an address change.

I moved but IRS doesn't have my new address

Thanks Kasey! I moved the the new address last year in June and am still living in this place. I haven't filed my return yet. I do have the new address on it. Does that mean I don't need to do anything?

You shouldn't have to do a thing at all. The IRS will update its records based on the address you file with!
