You’ll need to downgrade. You can downgrade if you have not already paid or attempted to e-file/registered. Instructions are below. Please note that downgrading requires that you clear all information in your account and start over.

Only the Free Edition is free.  And for 2018 everything is different.  In the regular Turbo Tax Free Edition, information that you can enter is limited now.  Under the new tax laws, there are no more simple Form 1040EZ or 1040A's.  Everything goes on a little Form 1040 that has six extra "schedules" with it, and if you need any of those schedules, you are not able to use the Free Edition.

If you want to go back to the Free Edition you can Clear and Start Over

There is also The Turbo Tax Free File program which is free for federal and state.  And has more forms than the Federal Free Edition, like Schedules A, B, C , D, E, F, EIC, H, K-1, SE,  etc.

To qualify for the Tax Freedom website  you just need to meet one of these 3 things
AGI $34,000 or less
Active duty military with AGI of $66,000 or less
OR qualify for EIC (earned income credit.)

In order to use the Free File program, you have to start it at a special website.  Click on the bottom Orange button I Qualify Start Now and set up a NEW account

I don't want the deluxe edition

I am very irritated. I have used Turbo Tax many times in the past due to the state only filing fee. Now suddenly they are throwing on a federal filing fee without telling me. Now I have paid and it is too late to change to a "different" Turbo Tax website. Thanks for NOT being upfront about your changes Turbo Tax!

The yes button didn't show after clicking on the Clear & Start Over button... I'm tired of messing around with it already... The only reason why I now can't get rid of the the deluxe version is because there wasn't an option to continue when I was trying to finish my taxes...I guess now I have to pay for it even though I don't need it.

I don't want the deluxe edition

I’m being told I need deluxe but I qualified for the EIC but I’m still being told to upgrade to deluxe

What an absolute joke and ripoff this company is. I have been using Turbotax for at least 4 years now and I have never not been able to use my federal return to pay the outlandish fee you charge. I am never using Turbotax again. Absolute false advertising and I am positive I have been ripped off by you guys in the past few years. I may contact an attorney.
