I am a yoga instructor but I do not work for a studio. How do I report the income

You are considered self-employed and should your report your income as such. You would report your cash, check and/or forms 1099-MISC and any expenses you might have using the steps below:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Wages and Income
  3. Business Items, Select Business Income and Expenses - follow the interview questions; you would report the income as if you own a business; you will be able to enter your income and expenses (if applicable).
